DYMPNA BROWN, age 55, has died. She passed away Saturday morning, November 8th, in San Francisco. She was the adored mother of Miranda, Simone and Olivia Brown and was the beloved wife for thirty years of Geoffrey Brown. She was a valiant and lovely woman.
Dympna, known as well as Wai-yung, was born in Singapore on December 20, 1947. She was raised in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. She graduated from Chinese University of Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, she was a talented commercial artist. After immigrating to San Francisco in 1971, she continued here in her profession.
Dympna was long and vivaciously active in politics, good works, and family. ... She is survived as well by family in this city, Boston, and China. Death came after a long struggle, gallantly borne, with cancer.
Burial in Holy Cross will be private, but a service, to which friends are invited, will be held at 10 AM, THURSDAY, November 13th, at Evergreen Mortuary at 4545 Geary Blvd. in this city.
